Outside sizes are estimates based on board thickness and box construction. Confirm the production dimensions with your packaging supplier.
Plan the packaging for your glass collection
A candle jar, its lid and its retail box need to work together. Use this tool to outline a pack for your glass product, then share the measurements with Bright Glassware alongside your product reference and order requirements.
- Start with the complete itemMeasure the jar or bottle with its fitted lid, cap or pump. For round glass, use the widest diameter for both length and width. Check your measurements.
- Leave space for protectionAllow for inserts, dividers and wrapping. For a set of identical items, enter the quantity and separation needed between them.
- Review the box and shipmentCompare box structures, then check the estimated outer size and pallet or master-carton count. Match the plan to how the goods will be sold and shipped.
- Send a focused inquiryUse Request a Quote to include your calculated specifications. Add the glass model, order quantity, destination and any closure or decoration requirements.
What these packaging estimates includeFrom product measurements to a preliminary carton and pallet plan
| Result | How to read it |
|---|---|
| Inside dimensions | The tool combines the selected item arrangement, gaps between items, and protection allowances on both sides. It rounds the result up to 1 mm or 1/16 in. |
| Outside dimensions | The selected box structure and board thickness add an estimated allowance to the inside dimensions. The finished box should be measured again after sampling. |
| Shipping weight | Dimensional weight comes from the estimated outer volume and the displayed divisor. Enter the complete packed weight to compare the two; this tool does not calculate a freight price. |
| Pallet and carton counts | Pallet counts multiply a rectangular layer arrangement by the available layers. Carton counts use the entered inner dimensions. These are geometric estimates, without load-bearing, stability or shipment-specific checks. |
Use the results as a starting specification for discussion. A physical pack is still needed to confirm the glass fit, insert design and finished dimensions.
Details to settle before ordering
Measure the glass with its closure
Use the outside dimensions of the assembled product. A candle lid may be wider than the jar; a perfume cap may add height beyond the bottle. For diffuser packaging, note whether reeds travel beside the bottle or in a separate sleeve. The calculator uses identical rectangular item spaces, so a mixed accessory set needs a separate layout review.
Plan retail presentation and transit packing
A single candle jar in a gift box and a wholesale carton of jars have different packing requirements. Start with the intended use of this box, then describe the next packing level in your inquiry. Bright Glassware's custom packaging options include boxes, inserts and branded presentation for glass products; the preview is a discussion aid, not a confirmed production design.
Allow for dividers, inserts and board
Set room for the actual protective materials you intend to use. For multiple glass items, include separation between adjacent pieces as well as protection at the outer walls. Board thickness changes the estimated outside size, but thickness alone does not establish stacking strength. Confirm the material and assembled pack together.
Coordinate the glass finish with the box artwork
Include your product reference, logo and intended color or finish when discussing the packaging. Our decoration and branding options can be considered alongside the outer presentation. The generated dieline is a proportion guide for supported box styles; production artwork needs the final structure, inserts and supplier-approved cutting layout.
Questions for glass packaging projects
Which Bright Glassware products can I plan a box for?
Start with glass candle jars, diffuser bottles, perfume bottles or another glass container with known outer measurements. Enter dimensions rather than nominal capacity: two containers holding the same volume can need different boxes.
Can I calculate a jar-and-lid set or a mixed gift set?
Measure a fitted jar and lid as one assembled item. The multi-item calculation assumes identical item dimensions. If your set contains different bottles, loose lids, reeds or accessories, send a component list and a layout reference so the separate spaces can be reviewed.
Which protection setting should I choose for glass?
Use the setting that represents your planned cushioning and insert space, or enter a custom allowance. The presets compare sizes; they do not certify protection for a particular jar or shipping route. Check the completed pack with the actual product and materials.
Does Pack-out calculate a full shipping container?
Pack-out estimates boxes on the selected pallet or inside your master carton. It does not optimize an ocean container or account for total payload, pallet weight, access space or loading restrictions. Include your destination and shipment requirements when requesting a packing plan.
Can the glass, closure and packaging be discussed together?
Yes. Tell us which jar or bottle you are considering, the closure you need, and your decoration and box ideas. This lets Bright Glassware review the components as one project. Availability and commercial terms depend on the selected specification.
What should I include with my quotation request?
Include the product link or reference, quantities for each size or finish, destination, and your intended packing method. The inquiry form can carry the calculator results with your message. Add any sample, artwork or delivery requirements so the next discussion starts with a clear brief.
Bring your glass and packaging ideas together.
Tell Bright Glassware about the jar or bottle, the finish you have in mind, and how it needs to be packed. Share your starting specifications so we can discuss the glass, closure and packaging as one project.
