We recommend approving the assembled jar-and-lid combination and the finished retail pack before bulk production, especially when several sizes share the same brand design.

Yes. A coordinated candle range can use the same logo system, color direction and packaging language across several jar sizes. The artwork often needs small adjustments because label area, jar proportion, lid size and box dimensions change from one capacity to another. Before production, approve each size with its own artwork placement and finished candle configuration. If the range uses the same coating or Pantone target, keep an approved physical reference so the different sizes can be compared for visual consistency across repeat orders.

Candle tins may use slip lids, screw lids, hinged lids, window lids or other model-specific closures. The correct option depends on the tin construction, intended candle format, required opening feel and retail presentation.

Decoration can include colored or printed surfaces, labels, screen printing, embossing and coordinated outer packaging where suitable. Approve the body and lid together, then check finish consistency, wax-filling conditions, wick layout and packing before bulk production.

Before filling, inspect the received containers and separate any pieces with visible damage. Keep vessels dry, clean and free from loose dust, and confirm that the correct jar, lid and decoration have been supplied.

Filling temperature, any preheating method, wick placement, curing and burn-test procedures should be established by the candle manufacturer for the actual vessel, wax and fragrance system. Avoid unapproved cleaning or heating methods that could affect coatings, decals or glazes.

Glass provides wax visibility and a broad range of shapes and decoration options. Ceramic provides an opaque, tactile and often more sculptural presentation. Metal tins are lightweight and practical for travel, gift and compact candle formats.

The choice should be based on the finished candle system, not appearance alone. Compare usable fill, heat behavior, dimensions, wick layout, lid or closure, decoration, packing and the testing required for the intended candle formula.

Common candle-jar finishes include clear glass, frosting, matte or gloss coatings, sprayed colors, printing, decals, metallic effects, textured or embossed surfaces and ceramic glazes. The best option depends on the vessel material, branding goal, filling process and intended candle use. Review the finish after wax filling, labeling, packing and handling, then approve it together with the intended wax, wick, lid and packaging.

Match the lid to the exact finished jar opening and rim, including any insert, sealing ring or internal structure used by the lid. Nominal diameter alone is not enough to confirm fit.

Approve the jar-and-lid combination on production-representative samples, check opening and closing feel, and then confirm the assembled height and fit inside the final retail and export packaging.

A jar’s stated capacity does not directly equal the finished candle’s wax weight. Capacity is a volume reference, while wax weight also depends on wax density, headspace, wick base, vessel geometry and the chosen fill line. Use the listed capacity to compare models, then weigh the actual wax formula in a physical sample. Product labels and costing should use the validated net fill of the finished candle.

For a 3-wick candle, focus on the usable internal diameter, wick spacing, wax depth, base shape and finished fill level. A wide jar is not automatically suitable for three wicks. Test the selected vessel with the actual wax, fragrance and wick system, then evaluate melt-pool development, flame behavior, heat distribution, soot and remaining wax before approving the finished candle.

We can provide the jar dimensions needed for wick development, but a final wick specification must be validated with the actual candle formula. Wick performance changes with inner diameter, wax type, fragrance load, dye, wick material and the intended burn profile.

Use the vessel dimensions to select starting wick candidates, then complete repeated burn testing before approving the finished candle.

Start with the planned usable wax fill, target burn format, wick layout, label area, lid, box and desired shelf presence. Review outside dimensions together with the internal diameter and actual usable volume.

A wider jar may require a different wick configuration from a tall narrow jar. Request the drawing and sample, then confirm fill weight, component fit and burn performance before production.

No. A container being made of glass does not automatically make it suitable for candle use. Select a model intended for candle applications and evaluate the complete candle system: vessel geometry, wax, fragrance load, wick, fill level and intended burn conditions.

Before launch, run controlled burn tests with production-representative jars. Decorative appearance alone is not enough to approve a vessel for a candle program.
